Have you ever thought about sharing your skills, knowledge or

expertise? Have you ever thought about becoming a teacher in the

adult education sector? Our Pathways to Teaching programme may

just be your first step towards such a career.

Pathways to Teaching Programme

This exciting new programme offers you an introduction to teaching and provides

you with valuable teaching experience. Successful completion of the programme

leads to a Level 3 Award in Education and Training which is an introductory

teaching qualification. It also leads to awards in Safeguarding, Equality and

Diversity and British Values (all knowledge needed by teachers in training).

This new programme has been carefully designed for people like you who want

to get into teaching in the adult education sector but aren’t sure what a suitable

first step might be.

The programme offers you a great introduction to the underpinning knowledge

needed for teaching. It also offers you a work placement (which we arrange for

you) where you get the opportunity to test the theory out in practice and to test out

if teaching is for you.

Successful completion of the programme could lead to employment and/or

progress onto a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training. Progression onto the

Diploma is dependent on a number of factors and we can advise you on these.

Entry Requirements for the course are:

• * hold a Level 2 English qualification and have the potential to work at Level 3

• * hold a relevant vocational and/or academic award, ideally at Level 3, and/or

have substantial vocational experience in the subject area you want to teach

• are a resident of the Liverpool City Region

• are over 19 years old

• are unemployed or are employed but earn less than £19305

* Talk to us if you you’re not sure about these we may be able to help you.

This programme will be delivered over two sesisons per

week. We plan to start in January 2023.
