Health and Social Care
The purpose of this course is to increase the learner’s knowledge and awareness of Health and Social Care. There are 3 compulsary units which you will study during the course. These are:
• Equality, diversity and rights in health and social care
• Human growth and development
• Safeguarding and protection in health and social care
Learners are not required to attend placement in a Real Work Environment. However, 30 hours or more of work placement is recommended in order to support their learning.
Introduction to Medical Terminology
Community Learning
Develop a good working knowledge of basic medical terminology and transfer these skills in ways that are appropriate to the learner’s situation. Provides the opportunity for progression on to an accredited Medical Terminology course.
Understanding Autism [NCFE Cache]

This qualification aims to develop learners’ understanding of autism and the principles of supporting individuals with autism - covering the person-centred approach and influence of positive communication methods, how to support positive behaviour, and how individuals with autism can be supported to live healthy and fulfilled lives. It is useful for learners who provide direct support and those working in sectors such as health; social care; leisure; entertainment; education and training; nursing.
Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties
Level 2 – Learning Aim Reference: 603/2041/2
This qualification aims to give learners knowledge of different Specific Learning Difficulties, how they are diagnosed and how individuals can be supported. The qualification can be used by a wide range of learners looking to improve their knowledge and awareness in this subject area.
